York Prep Sophomore Helps to Develop Vaccine Scheduling Website

Breaking news about the COVID-19 vaccine is developing constantly these days, and one of the biggest stepping stones towards getting the vaccine for many people, has been scheduling a much-coveted appointment. Enter a new website developed and run by four New York City high school sophomores, including York Prep sophomore Daniel Rosenkranz, called Vaccine Scheduling Service.
Daniel wanted to utilize his technology skills to help people to find vaccine appointments more efficiently via VSS (www.vaccineschedulingservice.org). As Director of Technology for VSS, his driving force to help people is in line with the mission behind VSS, which is to provide a free service to people who need help scheduling a vaccine appointment. To sign up for an appointment, VSS website visitors, who are eligible for vaccination,  can click on a vaccine scheduler button on the homepage. From there, they are directed to fill out and submit a Google form. Once the form is submitted, VSS volunteers search for, and find the appointment that works best for each person's location and schedule.

VSS is currently recruiting additional volunteers, and other high school students are invited to apply. For more information, visit the website or email vss.nyc.covid@gmail.com
