Admissions Process

Group tours and information sessions are a great way to meet the York Prep community and learn more about our school’s offerings. Families will meet current faculty, parents, and students on-campus to learn more about the school and admissions process. Group tours and information sessions are not required to submit an application.

Apply online through Ravenna. The application for the 27-28 school year opens on August 31, 2026.

The application requests a photograph of the applicant. We prefer a photo that clearly shows the candidate’s face.

Tours and interviews are an essential component of the admissions process. This is an opportunity to see York Prep in-action. Applicants receive a tour from a student ambassador. Parents/guardians receive a tour from an admissions team member. Tours will conclude with a conversation with the admissions team.

Tours and interviews occur after a child’s application is completed. You will be able to self-select an interview time slot through Ravenna.

Request a transcript from the applicant’s current school.

Plan to ask current English and Math teachers, and guidance counselor/dean, to fill out the reference forms through Ravenna. You are welcome to submit additional references.

Applicants can take the Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE) or the Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT). You must list York Prep as a school to which you want scores sent. Our school codes are:

To receive a decision on the ISAAGNY dates below, all steps of the application process must be completed by January 8, 2027:
