Jacqueline Leber

Education: Lehigh University – B.A.; Columbia University, Teachers College – M.A., Ed.D.

Dr. Leber began her career in education as a peer tutor at York Prep when she was enrolled as a student. For Dr. Leber, a student with a learning disability label and once saddled with persistent academic failure, helping her fellow classmates successfully navigate their coursework proved to be a particularly meaningful and defining life experience. The joy and satisfaction she felt helping her classmates find academic success ensued as she took on a similar role as a student intern in the office of disability support at Lehigh University. These early experiences blossomed into a lifetime commitment to students and a focus on helping them to both understand and feel comfortable with how they learn.

Dr. Leber continued her studies in education at Columbia University Teachers College where she received a Masters Degree and Doctorate Degree. Dr. Leber’s professional and academic experiences include general and special education instruction; instruction at institutions of higher education; administration; and course development in middle, secondary, and post-secondary settings. She has also conducted inventive research studies and led presentations at professional conferences. Dr. Leber is thrilled to have returned to the place that sparked her passion for education, her home at York Prep.
