Kathryn Maggiotto

Ms. Maggiotto began her time at York Prep as a middle school and upper school English teacher. As the middle school dean, she loves working closely with students and their families as they grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Prior to her time at York, Ms. Maggiotto taught at Beauvior: the National Cathedral Elementary School in Washington, DC and Young Playwrights Theatre, where she developed their in-school playwriting curriculum, trained teaching artists, and collaborated with DC public schools to enhance their arts-integration techniques.

As a produced playwright, Ms. Maggiotto uses her background in the arts to incorporate creative writing, performance, and storytelling into her classroom whenever possible.

Ms. Maggiotto graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Trinity College in Hartford, CT and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree as a part of the Leadership for Educational Change program at Bank Street College of Education.

When not at York, Ms. Maggiotto enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, rooting for the Cincinnati Reds and Buffalo Bills, writing, and going to the theatre.
