University of Wisconsin-Madison – B.A.
City College – M.S. Ed.

Namrata Singh is thrilled to be returning to New York City and York Prep after a decade in Berlin, Johannesburg and Chicago. Ms. Singh earned dual degrees in Economics and Sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She then joined NYC Teaching Fellows, where she taught in public schools while earning her M.S.ED. in Mathematics Education from City College.

Most recently, Ms. Singh worked in the international development and public health sectors, helping sub-Saharan African governments negotiate with pharmaceutical companies on HIV, TB and cancer medication pricing, and then applying the savings to increase treatment access for patients. In her free time Ms. Singh loves reading, studying architecture and design, and spending inordinate amounts of time in NYC’s parks with her husband, two small children and miniature dachshund, Christopher Plummer.
