York Prep's close proximity to Lincoln Center and to the Metropolitan Museum of Art inspires students to apply the knowledge and skills they learn inside the classroom to the diverse cultural world which surrounds them. In addition to field trips and formal classes, the fine arts department offers an array of extra-curricular clubs thus encouraging students to discover and develop their own creative "voice." Student work is publicly showcased around the school and throughout the year in recitals, talent shows, an art show, the school calendar, and in various student publications.
