Winterlude

The week before exams began, student performers treated the faculty to a wonderful holiday musical performance. Mr. Cockrell and Mr. Hodges accompanied the singers and musicians on the keys. Saxophonist Robson Matthews, 12th grade, and pianist Sebastian Liceaga, 9th grade, opened the show with a jazzy number and later performed the seasonal favorite "Oh Christmas Tree".
Jayden Littlejohn, 11th grade, played the keyboard and sang "This Side of Paradise" by Coyote Theory with a lively surprise piano interlude in the middle! Remi Young, 11th grade, performed a cheeky version of "There are Worse Things (I Could Do)" from the classic Grease. Kaiser Ghausi, 9th grade, performed a powerful version of Jason Robert Brown's "She Cries". Jada McIntosh, 9th grade, sang a beautifully jazzy rendition of "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve", with a trombone solo by Paul Petretta, 11th gradeAspen Wilson, 8th grade, gave an emotionally moving version of Lewis Capaldi's "Before You Go". Spencer Olshaker, 10th grade, Lilly Gordon June, 9th grade, Remi Young, 11th grade, and Kaiser Ghausi, 9th grade, closed the show with a performance of Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams".
