Centos Inspired By Ms. Umansky In the New York Times

If you read the New York Times on Sundays last month, you most likely read Ms. Umansky's latest article in the New York Times At Home section. In They Turned Articles Into Poetry, Ms. Umansky shares a selection of centos ("collage-poems") selected from the almost 100 centos that New York Times readers submitted after Ms. Umansky's article Turn Articles into Poetry was published last month.
“Writing poetry encourages us to escape, to create, to feel, to breathe, to forgive, to know better, to accept, and to play,” Ms. Umansky writes in her article. “Some of these poems take us into brighter days that lie ahead, while others instruct us on how to live ‘together but apart’  in these moments at home.”

Each cento includes a play on various elements including font size, white space, and margins. Each cento is a product of the writer's creativity and inclination to explore both within themselves and the world around them.
