York Prep’s Production of Bye Bye Birdie Flies High

The talented cast and crew of York Prep’s Bye Bye Birdie earned wholehearted applause and praise for their enthusiastic presentation of this enjoyable musical on Thursday, April 17, and Friday, April 18.

The inventively set production starred veteran student actors as well as newly discovered performers, including Jordan Wolfe as Albert Peterson, Yvonne Goutman as Rose Alvarez, Schuyler Quinn as Kim Macafee, Lara Mirgorod as Mrs. Macafee, Dodge Landesman as Mr. Macafee, Alison Shyer as Mrs. Peterson, Brandon Schwartz as Conrad Birdie, and Sam Miller as Hugo Peabody.

Singers and dancers delighted the audience with their interpretation of musical theater classics, such as “A Lot of Livin’ to Do,” “Kids,” and “Put On a Happy Face.”

We extend well deserved kudos to Director Lisa Powers, Musical Director Sheri Martucci-Cicero, choreographer Corinne Martucci, and Art teacher Karl Hartman, who designed the scenic elements.
