York Prep has always been a place where individual achievements have the opportunity to thrive. This tradition of excellence is continuing with sophomore Teddy Fitzsimons.
Teddy is on the USA Bobsled and Skeleton team for skeleton racing. For those of us who might not be familiar with the sport, skeleton racing involves plummeting head-first down a steep and treacherous ice track on a tiny sled. Treacherous indeed!
Over midwinter recess, while many students were relaxing, Teddy was overseas competing abroad in the qualifiers for the Youth Olympics 2020. Teddy, who unfortunately had to be sent to the emergency room following his run, was able to earn the 8th seat for the competition as a result of his hard work leading up to the competition.
Congratulations on securing your seat during the qualifier! York Prep is exceptionally proud of you and your Olympic endeavors and we look forward to seeing more from you in the future.
