York Gears up for Super Bowl IV

The York Prep Pantherdome once again will be the setting for the Annual York Prep Social Studies Super Bowl (this is the fourth year of the tradition; hence, “Super Bowl IV”). The high school classes square off against one another, fielding questions about History, Geography, and Government.

The questions, in three categories of difficulty with point values to match, are posed by Mr. Michael “Walking Textbook” Roper. He is ably assisted by the History Department Faculty, and the official scoring and timing is covered by Physical Education coaches Barbara Hughes and Russell Josephs.

Winners earn bestselling books on a variety of History topics as well as bragging rights for the entire calendar year. The Super Bowl has previously been won by the senior, freshman, and sophomore classes successively. Is 2008 the winning year for the junior class?
