Congratulations to 10th grader Philip Winter for his first-place finish in the New York City History Day competition in the Individual Performance category. Philip’s project, entitled “A Hessian Perspective”, had him embodying a Hessian child soldier fighting against the colonists during the American Revolution. Later this month, Philip will travel to Cooperstown to participate in the New York State History Day competition.
In addition to Philip’s extremely impressive sewing abilities, he was recently awarded a plethora of awards from the Scholastic Competition, including the regional titles in Gold, Silver, and Honorable Mention in the Fashion category, and Silver National Medal in Fashion.
York is extremely proud of your achievements Philip and we look forward to your next round of expertly crafted historical costumes.
