Returning Faculty Member Receives Doctorate

After seven long years away, Ian Pervil made a welcome return to the York Prep School community this fall. Though he formerly taught English for six years, Mr. Pervil made his homecoming as a member of the counseling department. While away from York, he pursued his doctoral degree in the field of clinical psychology while working under the guidance of Dr. Tracey A. Revenson at The Graduate Center, CUNY.

At the start of this school year, Mr. Pervil began meeting with freshmen and sophomores in mentoring classes as well as teaching psychology to juniors. After successfully defending his dissertation, Ways of Thinking about Illness Representations of Cancer, on Tuesday, October 20, Mr. Pervil officially became Dr. Ian Pervil. The entire York community would like to celebrate Dr. Pervil’s great achievement and congratulate him on a job well done.

Congratulations!
