Andrew Warren founded Teens Making a Difference two years ago and partnered with Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research. A fundraising event on May 7, 2010, hosted by Andrew, resulted in proceeds of $70,000 to benefit the cancer research initiatives of the Foundation.
Andrew chose committee members for the event, including students from York Prep. He helped organize the event itself, found the venue, found food sponsors, assembled goody bags, helped with getting participants in the fashion show, and held three-hour weekly committee meetings.
“It’s not fair for anyone to have to lose their own child to cancer,” says Andrew. “If we can get people involved in raising money for cancer research at a young age, it will be much easier to get rid of all these deadly diseases.”
In 2009, Andrew supported Operation Smile’s Junior Smile event and collaborated with his peers to raise awareness for teen philanthropy in today’s society.
We congratulate Andrew on his dedication to and support of Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation!
