Last Wednesday, Ms. Umansky’s 8H English class went on a field trip to Symphony Space, on the Upper West Side, for a special Celebration of Agatha Christie as part of their Selected Shorts program. This was after the class read her famous novel, And Then There Were None in English class. This celebration honored Christie’s short stories and had many famous celebrity actors performing these short stories.
Here were some rave reviews from her class:
Ellis Hemmerdinger said, “I thought the readings were very dramatic and made me definitely want to read those stories for myself, right away!”
Aaron Bacall said, “I liked hearing how Agatha Christie included subtle jokes, and humorous phrases to develop the personality of her iconic characters.”
Leo Steingart said, “I loved the final story, ‘Accident,’ read by actor, Hugh Dancy, because it made me think about whether the ghost boy was good or bad, long after the event.”
