Shoshana Spencer

Education: Edinburgh College of Art – Illustration; School of The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston & Tufts University – B.F.A.; Rhode Island School of Design – M.A.T.

Shoshana Spencer received her Master of Arts in Teaching in Art and Design Education from the Rhode Island School of the Design. A mixed-media fine artist and graphic designer by training, she sees teaching as a bridge between her art practice and instruction. She enjoys working in a variety of media — digital and traditional — and endeavors to bring a spirit of experimentation, play and curiosity into her classroom.

Prior to York Prep, Shoshana taught elementary art in the South Bronx and the Rhode Island School of Design’s Young Artist Summer Program. She also worked as the Graphic Designer at The Jewish Community Center in Stamford, CT for two years.

When she is not teaching or in her studio, she can be found chronicling New York City street life with her camera.
