Education: University of Oklahoma – B.S.; School of Visual Arts – M.F.A.
Art teacher Karl Hartman moved to New York City from Oklahoma to study painting at the School of Visual Arts. He found the city a source of delight and decided to stay. He has discovered both teaching and painting to be the most soul-nourishing pursuits. He encourages his students to interpret the world that surrounds them through the world that is in them. Besides teaching art, he sponsors the Set Building Club for our drama productions and the Open Studio Art Club.
Other than painting Mr. Hartman enjoys spending time with his family and camping.
