Julia Castagna

Education: Fordham University – B.A.; Bank Street College of Education – M.S.

Prior to teaching at York Prep, Ms. Castagna worked as a 5th-8th grade ELA teacher at The Gateway School. She also worked at Mary McDowell Friends School as a literacy, math, and current events teacher for grades 6-8.

Ms. Castagna has a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science from Fordham University. She also holds a master’s degree in Childhood General and Special Education from Bank Street College of Education. Additionally, she recently completed a second master’s degree from Bank Street, with an advanced literacy specialization, focusing on clinical, classroom, and literacy leadership roles.

In her free time, Ms. Castagna enjoys exploring New York City, spending time with family and friends, trying new restaurants, running, baking, and doing crafts, especially making her own Halloween costume each year!
