Prior to joining York Prep, Jump Start Teacher Jordan Brodsky, taught at the Abraham Joshua Heschel School and Rodeph Sholom School. Ms. Brodsky has a Bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University, an MSW from New York University and is a licensed clinical social worker. After many years in the field, Ms. Brodsky decided to switch careers and enrolled at Hunter College to obtain her Master’s in Education, as well as a certification in Special Ed.
Ms. Brodsky has assessed, instructed, and supported all students; those with learning differences, gifted, and ESL, differentiating and enhancing lessons based on students’ needs. As an educator, Ms. Brodsky hopes to enable her students to become curious and empowered individuals who are able to discover their best selves, feel comfortable taking risks, and explore their capabilities.
Outside of school, Ms. Brodsky enjoys playing sports, spending time with family and friends, and traveling. She has always loved working with children and adolescents, and worked at the same sleep-away camp in the Berkshires that she grew up attending. She also implemented the girls’ lacrosse program there, and coached lacrosse and soccer.
