Education: Plattsburg State University – B.S.; Manhattanville College – M.A.
With a passion for sports, Jessica Fazio exercised her athleticism as a college student by playing soccer for both Southern New Hampshire University and Plattsburgh State. After graduating with a bachelor’s in child family services, Ms. Fazio immediately got a job with an agency called SKIP of NY in Manhattan. She worked as a caseworker for severely disabled children. While it was a great organization to work for, she soon realized that it was not the right field for her.
Ms. Fazio decided to become a substitute teacher in the Lakeland Central School District (where she had gone to high school) and enrolled in Manhattanville College to obtain a master’s degree in physical education and sports pedagogy. Upon graduating Ms. Fazio spent two years as a part time physical education teacher in the Lakeland Central School District. Eventually she received a full time teaching job in the NYC DOE where she taught for four years. The favored quote that Ms. Fazio lives by is, “choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life.” She hasn’t “worked” since graduating from Manhattanville College and genuinely loves what she does.
In her spare time Ms. Fazio enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, going out to eat, going running, playing soccer, watching HGTV and reading.
