FOR York Prep parents

Come one, come all, for fun and for free

Sunday, May 4, 2008, at 10:00 a.m.

From Battery Park to Madison Square

Michael Roper is well known for making history come alive for our kids by taking them
out to explore our city on tours—the same tours that he gives in his second career as a
professional guide.

Mr. Roper will lead a free tour for interested York Prep parents on Sunday, May 4.
Come to learn something about our city and enjoy yourself while you’re at it.  Get to
know fellow York Prep parents over lunch at McSorley's Tavern.

No need to sign up; just show up!  Meet at Grand Central Terminal at 10:00 a.m. at
the information booth (the clock).  From there the group will take the subway to
Battery Park.

The tour includes Battery Park, Castle Clinton, Old Customs House, Bowling Green,
Bridge Street, Fraunces Tavern, Broad Street, “Stradt Huys,” Stone Street, Mill Street,
Wall Street, Federal Hall, Trinity Church, St. Paul’s Chapel, the Woolworth Building,
City Hall, Brooklyn Bridge, Stewart's Department Store, African Burial Ground, Foley
Square (Five Points), Sephardic Jewish Cemetery, Chinatown, Little Italy, Old St.
Patrick's Cathedral, SoHo, Colonnade, Cooper Union, McSorley's Tavern (lunch), "Little
Germany," Stuyvesant Street, Tammany Hall, Union Square, Gramercy Park, the
Theodore Roosevelt Home, Flatiron Building, and Madison Square.

See you there!
