From the dramatic arts to knitting, from sign language to skiing--York Preparatory School's impressive range of clubs and activities satisfies a wide range of student interests.

At least two major theatre productions are staged each year, involving the talents of York Prep students in costume design, set design and construction, lighting, and acting.

School clubs meet during the day and in the afternoons after regular classes. Some of the offerings include Science Club, WYRK Television, jazz band, billiards, Environmental Club, and Technology Club. York Prep's Law Team won The New York State Mock Trial tournament in 1994.

Students exercise their creative writing, graphic design, and photographic talents by being part of the yearbook staff, the school newspaper, and the school literary magazine. Our 1997 literary and art magazine, Genesis, won two nationally acclaimed awards. Another "hands-on" activity is the Student Government, which operates the student-staffed school store and organizes frequent school dances and bake sales.

Faculty-supervised trips are offered throughout the fall and spring terms. York Prep tudents attend the theater, take ski weekends, visit a dude ranch, and travel each year to a foreign country. Students have visited a number of lands abroad, including the Soviet Union, France, Italy, and Spain.
