Notes from Senior Orientation Meeting: SEE WEB SITE FOR MORE DETAILS!

1. We have signed you up to see us and to meet College Reps who come to visit.

2. Submit summer school grades to guidance office >>>> SOON! CHECK YOUR MAILBOX DAILY!

3. E mail your registration for SAT I and SAT II (and TOEFL if you are a foreign or bilingual student). SOON! Call SSD if you wish to take Untimed SAT Tues Nov 4 at York (333855).

4. Send or call soon for college applications using form given out at orientation. Also reserve your interviews now.

5. Be sure to remind your parents to attend Thurs. Sept 18 6-8pm, which is Senior Parents’ Night. Check web site often!

6. Photocopy all applications! Do not write on original. See Mrs Stewart or Ms Rooney for final review of applications. Do not send applications or email them yourself. We send every application from the Guidance Office. Use Common App website, and remember to save each time! (www.commonapp.org)

7.. If you need financial aid, call Campus Consultants NOW at 212- 861-8806. If you call early, you get a discount.

8. If you ever need to contact the SAT Board, call 609-771-7600. Make a note of this! Hit “0” to avoid long “menu” or to send scores call 1-800-SAT- SCORE. TO REACH THE COLLEGE BOARD ON LINE;www.collegeboard.com. PLEASE MAKE A NOTE OF THIS!!! SSD # is 609-771-7137.

10. There is no school Sept 19, Oct.6, Oct 13, and Nov 4 (Unt SAT), Nov 14. Use these times to visit colleges. Call today!

11. CONSIDER EARLY DECISION - IT CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE.

12 Be sure to get community service and school activities lined up, especially if you have done nothing in these areas up to this time. Our yearbook always needs advertising sales people! YOU MUST DO SOMETHING!! .

13 REMEMBER: ONE APPLICATION IS DUE BY NOVEMBER 27. ALL DUE BY DECEMBER 17. . Early decision applications usually due by November 1 or 15. Consult the catalogue for specifics. Some colleges have (2) Early Decision dates: one in November and one in January.

14. IMPORTANT: Getting into college is YOUR responsibility! Read the catalogs for SAT & SAT II & course requirements. Do you need Chemistry or Physics for specific college?

15. Be sure to read announcements every day. There is a copy outside the front office.

16. We gave every Senior a copy of his/her high school transcript last spring. We will give you another copy at this fall’s meeting. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO GO OVER EVERY GRADE FOR EVERY YEAR (9, 10, 11 + subjects to be taken ). The computer can make errors, so this is very important for you to do.

17. Please take Hypothetical Headmaster’s Letter assignment in Eng. very seriously. CHECK MAILBOX!!!! And website.
